The 6E model
Another example of the holistic approach is TCO's practical model that can be used as a basis for creating sustainable workplaces, called "6E". This is a methodical approach to the integration of the work and natural environments, which, in the same way as the TCO display labelling scheme, has its roots in the Rio World Summit.

The aim with 6E is to assist in the processes in a company or organisation that will lead to its workplaces being sustainable. This model is based on everyoneÕs active participation and commitment to the reviewing, ideas development and practical work required to achieve continual improvement. In order to best utilise the experience and knowledge of staff, and to build up a bank of new knowledge, the 6E management system includes checklists, IT support, training material and a model for systematic environmental work.
